Data protection

In this document, we want to inform you how we treat your personal data. Please note that the information below may be reviewed and amended from time to time. We therefore recommend that you read this privacy policy on a regular basis.

1 Data protection

The operators of these sites take the protection of your personal data very seriously. We treat your personal data confidentially and in accordance with the statutory data protection regulations and this privacy policy.

It is usually possible to use the website without having to enter personal details. If personal details are collected on our website (e.g. name, address or e-mail addresses), this is always done on a voluntary basis, as far as this is possible. This data will not be passed on to third parties without your explicit consent.

Please be advised that there may be gaps in security with regard to the transmission of data on the internet (e.g. communication via e-mail). It is not possible to protect data completely from third-party access.

2 Cookies

The internet sites often also use so-called “cookies”. Cookies do not damage your computer and contain no viruses. Cookies serve the purpose of making our website more user-friendly, effective and safe. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer and by your browser.

Most of the cookies we use are so-called “session cookies”. They are automatically deleted when you close the web page. Other cookies are stored on your end device until you delete them. These cookies allow us to recognise your browser on your next visit to the website.

You can set your browser to notify you whenever a cookie is set up, to accept or reject cookies in individual cases, not to accept any cookies and to automatically delete cookies when you close your browser. Deactivating cookies can limit the functionality of this website.

3 Server log files

The provider of the sites automatically collects and stores information in so-called server log files, which your browser automatically transmits to us. This includes:

  • Browser type and version
  • Operating system used
  • Referrer URL
  • Host name of the accessing computer
  • Time of the server query

This data cannot be traced back to an individual. This data is not merged with other sources of data. We reserve the right to analyse this data at a later date if we become aware of any specific indications of unlawful use.

4 Google Analytics

This website uses features of the Google Analytics web analytics service. The provider is Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. The usage includes the “Universal Analytics” operating standard. This makes it possible to assign data, sessions and interactions across several devices to a pseudonymous user ID and thus to analyse the activities of a user across all devices.

Google Analytics uses so-called “cookies”. These are text files stored on your computer that enable your website use to be analysed. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is usually transmitted to and stored on a Google server in the USA. Since IP anonymisation is activated on this website, your IP address will first be truncated within member states of the European Union or other signatory states to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and truncated there. Google does not associate the anonymised IP address transmitted by your browser through Google Analytics with any other data held by Google.

The legal basis for the use of Google Analytics is Section 15(3) of the German Telemedia Act (TMA) and Article 6(1f) GDPR. The data that is sent by us and linked to cookies, user recognition (e.g. user ID) or advertising IDs is automatically deleted after 14 months. Data whose retention period has elapsed is automatically deleted once a month. You can find more information on the terms of use and data protection at:

https://www.google.com/analytics/terms/gb.html

https://policies.google.com/?hl=en

You can prevent Google from collecting and processing the data collected by cookies and relating to your use of the website (including your IP address) by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available at the following link which prevents Google Analytics from collecting data from this website in the future: http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en-GB

An opt-out cookie is then placed on your device. If you delete your cookies, you have to click on the link again.

5 IP anonymisation

We have activated the IP anonymisation function on this website. This allows Google to truncate your IP address in the Member States of the European Union and in other signatory states to the Agreement on the European Economic Area before it is transmitted to the USA. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and truncated there. On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information to analyse use of the website, to compile reports on website activities, and to provide the website operator with additional services connected with the use of the website and the internet. Google will not associate the IP address transmitted by your browser through Google Analytics with any other data held by Google.

6 Browser plug-in

You can prevent cookies from being stored by changing the settings of your browser software accordingly. We draw your attention to the fact, however, that in this event you may not be able to use all of the functions of this website to the full extent. You can also prevent Google from collecting and processing the data collected by cookies and relating to your use of the website (including your IP address) by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available at the following link: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en-GB

For more information on how Google Analytics handles user data, please refer to the Google Privacy Policy: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245?hl=en

7 Contact form

If you send an enquiry to us using the contact form, we will store your information from the enquiry form, including the contact details you provided, for the purpose of processing the enquiry and for follow-up questions. This data will not be passed on without your consent.

8 Newsletter data

If you would like to receive the newsletter offered on the website, we require an e-mail address and information allowing us to verify that the e-mail address provided belongs to you and that you agree to receive the newsletter. No further data is collected. We use these details exclusively to send the requested information and do not pass them on to third parties. The data is stored by CleverReach®: CleverReach GmbH & Co. KG, Mühlenstrasse 42, 26180 Rastede, Germany.

You can withdraw your consent to the storage of your data, e-mail address and the use thereof to send the newsletter at any time using the “Unsubscribe” link in the newsletter.

9 Social media

Our website uses social plug-ins, such as that of Facebook. The plug-ins are indicated with the provider’s logo and can be a “Like” button, for instance. Furthermore, videos from YouTube and Vimeo are integrated into our website.

When you click on a link to one of our social media profiles, this establishes a direct connection between your browser and the server of the social network in question.  This then informs the network that you are visiting our website with your IP address and that you have clicked on the link. If you click on a link to a network whilst you are logged into your account with the network in question, the contents of our website may be linked to your profile with the network, which means that the network can assign your visit to our website directly to your user account. If you would like to prevent this from happening, log out before you click on the relevant link. In any case, an assignment takes place when you log into the relevant network after clicking on the link.

10 SSL encryption

This site uses SSL encryption for security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, such as requests you send us as a site operator. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the fact that the address line of the browser changes from “http://” to “https://” and there is a lock symbol in your browser line.

If SSL encryption is activated, the data you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties.

11 Links to other websites

Some of the links on the website lead you to third-party websites that are beyond the control of Voralpen-Express AG. Voralpen-Express excludes any liability whatsoever for their content, products and services or other benefits offered. The links in question merely aid user-friendliness and provide information. If you click on links like this, you do so at your own risk and responsibility.

12 Right to information, deletion and blocking

You are always entitled to free information about your stored personal data, their origin and recipient, the purpose of processing the information, and the right to rectify, block or delete this data. If you would like to do this or if you have any further questions on personal data, you are welcome to contact us by e-mail at any time at info@remove-this.voralpen-express.ch, or by post to:

c/o Schweizerische Südostbahn AG
Bahnhofplatz 1a
CH-9001 St. Gallen

13 Objection to advertising e-mails

We hereby prohibit the use of the contact data published as part of the duty to publish an imprint for the purpose of sending any advertising or informational materials that we have not expressly requested. The operators of the website expressly reserve the right to take legal action in the event of unsolicited sending of advertising information, for example spam e-mails.
